Our Opera Lids are a perfect match for the pots and pans and are made with the same care and hand-hammered finish. The artistic brass Acorn handle is produced using early methods of molding and is a luxurious accessory. Manufactured in
solid copper which is hand-tinned over fire, Opera Cookware is the preferred choice of refined chefs world-wide.
About Our Copper Cookware
Each individual piece of our Opera Copper Cookware is constructed of solid copper 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm thick and is purchased from only certified suppliers. This selective process assures only the highest and purest copper is used in the manufacturing of our cookware. Known as a “green” material, copper is 100% eco-friendly and recyclable. Once formed, the copper is hammered and tinned over fire by hand. To achieve the hammered finish, heated copper is methodically hand struck with a device similar to a meat tenderizer to achieve an extremely delicate imprinted pattern.
Tinning the interiors, the process by which the cookware receives a bonded layer of tin, is the essential finishing touch. The highest purity of tin is used to blend perfectly with the copper. The Opera Copper Cookware is built for longevity and years of productive usage.
About the Benefits in Design
Copper possesses a natural heat conductivity which is higher than aluminum and stainless-steel. As copper cookware heats up, the heat is transferred evenly from the bottom of the pan to the sides locking in the flavor and nutritional values of the foods. This even heat distribution prevents hot spots and burning while discouraging food from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Because copper transfers heat quickly, everything cooks evenly, and the durable lining won't react with acidic ingredients. Remember your can use a lower flame.
